Protecting Yourself From Recruitment Scams

Recruitment scams are on the rise, and fraudsters sometimes impersonate legitimate staffing and recruiting firms to steal personal information or money.

At The Agency Recruiting, we take this seriously and want you to know what to watch for, how we communicate, and what we will never ask you to do. We will never ask for payment upfront for any service.

Warning Signs to Watch For

Be cautious if someone claiming to represent The Agency Recruiting asks for any of the following:

  • Personal financial details such as bank account information, routing numbers, credit card details, or payment app logins

  • A fee to apply, interview, or “secure” a role

  • Money on behalf of another person, including sending, receiving, converting, or processing funds

  • Guaranteed employment or guaranteed income without a formal interview process

You should also be cautious if you notice:

  • Limited online presence or a recruiter profile that does not align with our current team

  • Suspicious social media profiles with little activity or inconsistent job history

  • Pressure to move conversations to WhatsApp, Telegram, or text immediately

  • Poor grammar, vague job descriptions, or inconsistent company details

  • Branding that does not match The Agency Recruiting’s current official branding, website, tone, or listed recruiters

Scammers often copy outdated logos, use incorrect brand colors, create slightly altered email domains, or reference recruiters who are not currently part of our team.

Recruiter Verification and Branding

Please note that there may be recruiters listed on our LinkedIn company page or other platforms who are no longer employed by or affiliated with The Agency Recruiting.

Former recruiters may still appear in search results or older posts and may be using outdated branding materials. Current recruiters will always reflect our updated branding, messaging, and official company email domain.

For the most accurate and up to date list of active team members, please refer to the About Us page on our official website. This page contains the full list of current employees and recruiters.

If a recruiter is not listed on our About Us page, they are not currently affiliated with The Agency Recruiting.

What The Agency Recruiting Will Never Do

To be clear:

  • We will never ask for payment information upfront

  • We will never charge a fee to be considered for a role

  • We do not provide resume services, resume rewrites, or paid profile verification

  • We will never ask you to send or receive money as part of a job opportunity

If any of the above occurs, it is not The Agency Recruiting.

How We Communicate

Official communication from The Agency Recruiting will:

  • Come from an email address ending in @theagencyrecruiting.com

  • Align with our current branding and messaging found on our official website

  • Reference real, active recruiters listed on our About Us page

If you receive communication from a free email account such as Gmail or Yahoo claiming to represent The Agency Recruiting, treat it as suspicious.

While our recruiters may connect with you on LinkedIn, we will never request money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or financial details.

How to Spot a Fake Website or Communication

Scammers may attempt to clone real recruiting websites or create lookalike email domains. Watch for:

  • Slight misspellings in the website URL

  • Extra words or hyphens added to the domain name

  • Outdated logos or branding elements

  • Recruiter names that do not appear on our official About Us page

  • Missing contact details or only a generic submission form on a website outside of our official domain

What To Do If You’re Unsure

If you receive a suspicious message:

  1. Do not click links or open attachments

  2. Do not share personal or financial information

  3. Verify the recruiter through our official About Us page

  4. Contact us directly using the information listed on our website

  5. Report and block the sender on the platform
